The Group Disability Specialists

Group Disability insurance as part of an employee benefit plan offers key advantages, including serving as an excellent employee recruitment and retention tool. With a Group plan you have the opportunity to leverage design flexibility to fit your company’s budget while providing a safety net for your employees. You can choose to pay the premiums or have your employees pay them, or opt for a combination of the two, using pre-tax or after-tax dollars. In addition, you can take pre-tax company-paid premiums as a business tax deduction.

ISU-The Olson Duncan Agency offers businesses both Group Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability designed to help protect your employees’ most valuable asset: the ability to earn an income should they become ill or injured and are unable to work.

Group Short-Term Disability Insurance

Short-Term Disability (STD) insurance helps safeguard an employee’s income for a specific period of time – typically three months, six months, or one year, after a brief waiting period – because of an illness or injury that prevents them from working. This coverage helps employees pay the bills when they cannot work due to a covered claim.

Group Long-Term Disability Insurance

Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance helps employees meet day-to-day financial obligations by replacing a portion of an employee’s income during an extended period of a disabling illness or accident. An LDT policy typically has an elimination period of at least 90 days, after which benefits are paid for a longer term, typically, two years, five years, 10 years, to age 65, or for life.

Our staff will work with you to find a flexible plan that not only provides valuable income protection to employees, but also does so at an affordable cost.
